The Nürburgring is close by and is attractive to motorsports enthusiasts.
Mayen is a cozy regional town, bordering a special and attractive climbing area (also for advanced! ) For the children there is a wonderful play and amusement park .
Cochem on the Moselle is a delightful town with a nice amusement park .
The hills and winding roads are attractive to motorcyclists.
Picturesque half-timbered villages such as Monreal and Monschau are nearby. Also the nearby cities Trier (Trèves, the oldest city in Germany) and Koblenz are attractive for culture lovers .
The aircraft museum in Hermeskeil (OK, an hour’s drive, but with a real Concorde!) and the fire museum make many a boy’s or gentleman’s heart beat faster….
Wine lovers can indulge in wine villages along the Ahr and Moselle rivers.
