Sporty people have opportunities for cycling, canoeing and in winter cross-country skiing.
The Nürburgring is close by and is attractive for
motor racing enthusiasts.
Mayen is a cozy regional town, adjacent to a special and attractive
climbing area (also for advanced!) For children there is a wonderful play and amusement park.
Cochem on the Moselle is a lovely town with a fun amusement park.
The hills and winding roads are attractive to motorcyclists.
Picturesque half-timbered villages such as Monreal and Monschau are nearby. The nearby cities of Trier (Trèves, Germany’s oldest city) and Koblenz are also attractive to culture lovers.

The aircraft museum in Hermeskeil (OK, an hour’s drive, but with a real Concorde!) and the fire museum make many a boy’s or gentleman’s heart beat faster….
Wine lovers can indulge in wine villages along the Ahr and Moselle rivers.
